Energy Drink Comparison

Energy Drink Comparison
When comparing energy drinks it is of the utmost importance to compare apples to apples, as the old saying goes. Often times, it can be hard to find actual non-biased, head-to-head comparisons of the different beverages that are out there. We'll give you an unbiased match up of the drinks as well as other useful and helpful information to help you decide which energy drink is best suited for your personal needs.
Many Ingredients Are Similar
Almost all of the drinks we looked at contained many of the same ingredients which included; caffeine, B vitamins, sugar, and taurine. Some also contained different artificial sweeteners, ginseng and/or ginkgo biloba, as well as other substances in smaller amounts. In this energy drink comparison we'll display the most popular drinks and include the exact amount of caffeine, sugar, and calories on the graph below. In addition we will include a comment column with any unique ingredients or exceptions.

Energy shots are even more powerful
Now we're getting into the 2 ounce energy drink comparison (also known as energy shots) and the differences are startling. The 5-hour Energy shot has 200mg of caffeine packed into just 2 tiny ounces. There are varying amounts of caffeine in these energy shots ranging from a high of 500mg of caffeine to a much lower 100mg. Even though at first 200 mg of caffeine seemed quite high, further research revealed that it actually seemed to be the average amongst most energy shots out there. Medical experts say these shots should not be used frequently due to the extremely high caffeine dosage. Obviously rare occasional use is acceptable and not detrimental to one's health. Experts still recommend a good sleep schedule and sound nutritional regimen, as the energy shots are a substitute for neither.
With hundreds of drinks to choose from and more being introduced everyday, it may be impossible to make an accurate energy drink comparison for every single drink out there. The main thing to understand is that the ingredients are on the label. Make sure you do your own due diligence by researching each and every ingredient and its potential benefits.
